NSFW: Jeju’s Love Land

Alright, I’ve warned you, this post is not exactly safe for work. It includes descriptions and photos of Jeju Island’s sex ‘theme park.’ Click through for more.

Jeju is a popular destination for Korean tourists, perhaps especially for Korean honeymooners. Historically, arranged marriages were popular, and the island became a place to get some sex education. Today with 30% of the population being Christian, waiting until marriage is still often done. In addition to that, there is no sex education in schools. Many people don’t date until they’re out of school since school is so stressful and studying takes up about 110% of any student’s time. Koreans marry late – probably late 20s to early 30s on average, but they tend to live at home with parents until marriage – slimming down available alone time (this is partly why private room rental places like DVD rooms, karaoke rooms, and love motels are so popular). Therefore plenty of Koreans still get married today needing some inspiration and education about sex.

Love Land is one of the places you can go to get your sexy inspiration. It’s mainly a sculpture park. The sculptures were made by art students from Hongik University, and it shows. This is really a place where art and eroticism interact – with more than a little bit of silliness. From here I think the pictures will speak for themselves.

There was also a gift shop with some silly products as well as condoms, vibrators, and lube that were rather expensive. I didn’t take any pictures of that though.

I found Love Land to be enjoyable. It’s a quick visit – it’ll take you less than an hour. I was impressed with how beautiful and artistic the statues were – I expected it to be way more cheesy. I would recommend a visit if you’re on Jeju – you can definitely pose in fun suggestive ways with life-size sex sculptures!

Interesting photos! How huge is the sculpture in the 3rd photo. It’s beautiful! I never thought a park like this exists somewhere. Thanks for sharing.
