World Flavor is 1 Year Old!

Last year on June 6, I decided it was time to move from my rarely updated Blogger blog to a WordPress blog with my own domain name, and take this blogging stuff more seriously. So far, I think it’s gone well. I chose my blog name carefully – I didn’t want it just about Korea, but to be focused on food and culture around the world. Thus, World Flavor.

I’m happy to say that I have kept up blogging (though my content is quite far behind!) and still enjoy it. I have brought my boyfriend aboard and have actually had people start to contact me for reviews and sponsorship. Due to my work contract, I can’t take any ads until September, but my readership is up high enough that I feel like I might be able to make a little money. Basically, for my purposes this blog has started to become successful. Since it’s mostly for fun and for helping me remember what I’ve done, it’s definitely been great.

Last week we switched hosts to DreamHost and are now using wordpress.org – and you may have noticed that we’ve been playing around with the site’s looks. We’d love any feedback you have.

• Most interesting search terms – “first time naked in public,” “what does foie gras taste like,” “lots of farm animals“
• Underrated posts (I liked them, but they didn’t get much attention): Tips for not making people hate you on the DC metro (essential reading if you’re going to DC), Foodie Friday: My Favorite DC Eats (maybe I’m being a bit nostalgic here), Reflections on a Five Year Relationship (of course I love the subject matter)

Thank you so much for reading World Flavor and I hope to continue producing plenty of (hopefully good quality) content for you. I will certainly be doing plenty of traveling and eating that I can write about!
